National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) is the world's first and only university dedicated exclusively to forensic science education and research. Established by an Act of Parliament in 2020, the university has been recognized as an Institution of National Importance functioning under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.

NFSU aims to develop highly skilled forensic professionals who contribute to the effective delivery of justice in India and across the world. The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral, and diploma programmes in various fields including forensic science, cyber forensics, digital investigation, and other allied disciplines.

Headquartered in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, NFSU has expanded its presence through campuses across multiple states in India, making specialized forensic education accessible nationwide. The university has also established international campuses, including in Uganda, reflecting its growing global presence. NFSU further collaborates with national and international law enforcement agencies, research institutions, and academic bodies to promote interdisciplinary learning and research.

In recent years, NFSU has also emerged as a leader in digital forensics and investigative innovation. Its Centre of Excellence in Digital Forensics received the DSCI Excellence Award for advancing digital forensic capabilities and producing legally admissible digital evidence, while the university's digital intelligence search engine, Strotpragna, has been recognized by the INTERPOL Innovation Centre. Through its research, training, and collaboration with investigative agencies in areas such as cyber security and digital forensics, NFSU continues to strengthen the criminal justice system in India.

The School of Law, Forensic Justice and Policy Studies (SLFJPS) is a leading academic school within the National Forensic Sciences University that integrates legal education with scientific and technological perspectives. As one of the flagship schools of NFSU, SLFJPS aims to prepare legal professionals capable of addressing the evolving challenges of modern justice systems.

The school's flagship programme is B.Sc. LL.B. (Hons.), which combines legal education with scientific and data-driven approaches to justice. SLFJPS also offers B.A. LL.B. (Hons.), along with postgraduate programmes such as LL.M. in Criminal Law and Criminal Justice Administration and LL.M. in Cyber Law and Cyber Crime Investigation, as well as the Postgraduate Diploma in Cyber Law (PDCL).

Through its interdisciplinary curriculum, SLFJPS equips students with knowledge in areas such as criminal law, cyber law, digital investigation, evidence law, and emerging technological challenges within the legal system. The school encourages research, policy engagement, and collaboration with legal practitioners and institutions.

Beyond academics, SLFJPS promotes active student participation in research, moot court competitions, and academic writing. Initiatives such as the Nyaya Patrika newsletter reflect the school's commitment to intellectual discourse, student expression, and meaningful dialogue on contemporary legal issues.
